I’ve always had a huge passion for tech, design, astrophotography, and plenty of other creative pursuits. For a long time, severe anxiety kept me mostly housebound, but it also handed me the gift of time—giving me hours to dive headfirst into experimenting with AI art and stargazing through my telescope lens.
I know AI gets a lot of mixed reactions, but I see it like any other tool: it’s all about picking the right instrument for the right job. I still love manually editing photos, but combining AI with my own shots opens up whole new worlds of creativity.
One of my favorite ways to spend time is in a few free Facebook groups restoring old, damaged photos for people. Whether it’s removing a minor scratch, bringing back a heavily torn vintage print, or stitching together family members into a single shared memory, it’s deeply rewarding work. Everyone in the group has their own unique style, but our shared goal is simple: to create something meaningful. People sometimes ask, “Wait, that moment never actually happened in real life, so is it real?” Maybe not strictly on paper, but if a picture brings comfort or helps someone feel connected to a loved one, that’s real enough for me.
To help me step outside while keeping a comfortable “safe zone,” I recently picked up a small campervan—complete with its own little setup so I can explore without the stress. Being able to park up, listen to the rolling waves, and watch the sea has been pure magic for my peace of mind.
